Cal Hampton in GTA 6: Who He Is and Who Plays Him

Cal Hampton is Jason Duval's friend and one of the people Jason works alongside in the Leonida Keys. Rockstar presents him as the nervous, suspicious one of the group: a man who would rather stay home listening to Coast Guard radio traffic with a few beers than go anywhere he cannot see coming.

Who he is

Cal is a friend of Jason's and works for Brian Heder, the veteran smuggler who runs his business out of a boat yard in the Keys. Where Brian has stepped back from dealing with clients directly, Cal and Jason are among the people who handle that work for him.

His defining trait is paranoia. Rockstar's description and the coverage of it frame him as a conspiracy-minded homebody who monitors official communications and trusts the internet more than the people around him.

That makes him an unusual partner for a crime story: careful to the point of comedy, but the kind of person who notices what everyone else misses.

Where he fits in the story

Cal belongs to Jason's side of the cast, the Keys and the smuggling economy around Brian, rather than to the Vice City music and nightlife world of Boobie Ike and Dre'Quan. Grand Theft Auto has a long habit of pairing its leads with an anxious friend who comments on the chaos, and Cal reads as that role for this game.

What is confirmed and what is not

Confirmed: his friendship with Jason, his work for Brian Heder and his paranoid, conspiracy-driven personality. Not confirmed: how large his part in the plot is, whether he is playable in any mission, and how his story ends.

Who plays Cal Hampton?

Rockstar has not confirmed who voices Cal. Some coverage has said he sounds like a well-known comedic actor, but that is an impression from the trailer, not a credit, and at least one actor named by fans has publicly said it is not him. Rockstar usually lets cast names surface close to or after release; until then, treat any confident name as unverified. Our GTA 6 cast guide tracks which actors have actually been confirmed.
