GTA 6: everything confirmed ahead of the November 19 release

Grand Theft Auto VI arrives on 19 November 2026, and after the Netflix Extended Look on 27 August there is finally more confirmed material than speculation. This page collects what Rockstar has actually stated, and flags what is still secondhand.

The essentials

• Release date: 19 November 2026, after two previously announced delays.
• Platforms: PlayStation 5, PlayStation 5 Pro and Xbox Series X|S. No PC version has been dated.
• Price: Standard Edition $80, Ultimate Edition $100.
• Pre-orders: announced 18 June 2026, opened 25 June 2026.
• Setting: Vice City, in the fictional state of Leonida.
• Protagonists: Jason and Lucia. Lucia is the first playable female protagonist in a mainline entry.

The Extended Look

Rockstar announced on 6 August that an extended look would premiere on Netflix, and it did so on 27 August: roughly 26 minutes, captured in-game on PlayStation 5, later made available more widely.

Story structure

The campaign uses a chapter-based structure, closer to Red Dead Redemption 2 than to previous Grand Theft Auto games. Rockstar's own Ultimate Edition description refers to content "uncovered behind each chapter," which is the clearest confirmation available.

Player choice is part of the design. Decisions range from minor to consequential, and Rockstar has described smaller ones as accumulating effect over the campaign rather than resolving immediately.

What is still not confirmed

Treat the following as open regardless of how often you see them asserted: total map size, the full list of returning locations, online mode structure and timing, and any PC release window. None of these have been stated by Rockstar.
