Avengers: Endgame Encore release date
Marvel Studios announced that Endgame returns to theatres on 25 September 2026, under the new title Avengers: Endgame Encore. That lands almost three months before Avengers: Doomsday opens on 18 December 2026, which is the point: the re-release is a bridge, not an anniversary screening.
How long is Avengers: Endgame Encore?
The Encore cut runs 185 minutes, against 181 minutes for the original. AMC Theatres confirmed the runtime, as MovieWeb reported, which puts the new material at roughly four minutes. If a cinema listing shows 185 minutes, it is the Encore cut.
What new footage is in Endgame Encore?
Three additions are confirmed: a custom introduction, additional footage and a new end tag. According to MovieWeb, Kevin Feige and the Russo brothers said at CinemaCon 2026 that the new footage was filmed during production of its sequel, meaning it was shot alongside Avengers: Doomsday.
What Marvel has not confirmed is what the footage actually shows. Theories about Robert Downey Jr.'s Doctor Doom appearing during the Time Heist are just that. Which screens show the new footage?
This is the part most people miss. The new footage and the Doomsday first look are attached to IMAX and Infinity Vision screenings. Infinity Vision is Disney's new premium certification for auditoriums that meet its standards for screen size, laser projection and immersive sound. A standard screening still shows Endgame, but without the added material.
How to book Avengers: Endgame Encore tickets
- Pick the format first. Choose IMAX or an Infinity Vision screen if you want the new footage.
- Check the runtime on the listing. 185 minutes is the Encore cut; 181 is the original.
- Look beyond the big chains. Infinity Vision is a certification, so it can appear under a cinema's own premium branding.
- Book early for opening weekend. IMAX screens are limited, and the original film earned close to $2.8 billion worldwide.
