Punkie Johnson’s debut stand-up special, Long Tiddie Short Story, is set to premiere on Hartbeat’s LOL Stand-Up YouTube Channel on October 21st. The special, billed as a “brutally honest and unfiltered hour about marriage, sex, drugs, and what can transpire when you pretend to be ‘normal’,” is directed by Steven Feinartz and produced by Feinartz and Danielle Lee. It’s a comedy album available on audio streaming services on November 13, and pre-orders are available on October 21. The special joins a growing stand-up slate from Hartbeat, including the second installment of LOL Live at Hulu and Funny AF, a stand-up competition series that was picked up for a second season after drumming up major viewership at Netflix.
Johnson, a former Saturday Night Live cast member, has been in the spotlight for her bold, unfiltered take on life, love, and the absurdities of being “normal.” Her previous work includes a SiriusXM show, Love Thang, and a role in Barbershop TV for Prime Video. The special is a direct extension of her career, and the timing feels right—after a year of touring and developing original projects, it’s a chance to bring her voice to a new audience.
The deal to distribute the special was spearheaded by Hartbeat President & Chief Distribution Officer Jeff Clanagan and VP, Comedy Eric Weil. Clanagan said, “Punkie is exactly the kind of singular comedic voice we want to champion at Hartbeat.
We’ve had the opportunity to work with her across radio, television and now stand-up, and bringing her debut special directly to audiences on YouTube reflects our larger strategy of creating more ways for great comedians to reach fans wherever they are.” Weil added, “Punkie has the rare ability to be completely fearless and deeply personal at the same time.
Long Tiddie Short Story is unmistakably her — honest, unpredictable and incredibly funny. We’re proud to be part of her first stand-up special and to continue a creative relationship with Punkie that has grown across radio, television and stand-up.”
The special is a culmination of Johnson’s career, and the fact that it’s being released on YouTube is a strategic move. Hartbeat has a history of producing content that resonates with audiences, and this special is no exception.
It’s a chance for Johnson to reach fans who may not have seen her work before, and it’s a way to showcase her unique voice. The fact that it’s available on audio streaming services on November 13 is a sign that the special is not just a one-time event—it’s a long-term investment in Johnson’s career.
The special is a bold, unfiltered look at life, love, and the absurdities of being “normal.” It’s a raw, unfiltered look at the struggles of marriage, the complexities of sex, and the dangers of pretending to be “normal.” It’s a show that’s not afraid to be honest, and it’s a show that’s not afraid to be unpredictable.
It’s a show that’s not afraid to be funny. And it’s a show that’s not afraid to be real.
Johnson’s previous work has been praised for its honesty and its unfiltered take on life. Love Thang was a hit on SiriusXM, and her role in Barbershop TV was well-received. Long Tiddie Short Story is a continuation of that trend, and it’s a continuation of the same spirit. It’s a show that’s not afraid to be vulnerable, and it’s a show that’s not afraid to be bold. It’s a show that’s not afraid to be real.
