Where to Buy GTA 6: Editions, Price and Pre-Orders

Two editions, two prices, and a short list of places that actually sell it. Everything else is a key reseller taking a risk on your behalf.

Grand Theft Auto VI arrives on 19 November 2026 for PlayStation 5, PlayStation 5 Pro and Xbox Series X|S. Pre-orders were announced on 18 June 2026 and opened on 25 June.

The two editions

  • Standard Edition — $80. The game.
  • Ultimate Edition — $100. The game plus the bonus content Rockstar has attached to the higher tier.

The $80 standard price is itself notable: it sits above the $70 that became normal for current-generation releases, and it is the number most of the pricing conversation around the game has centred on.

Where to buy it

For a digital copy there are exactly two first-party storefronts, and they are the safest option:

  • PlayStation Store, on console or through the web store.
  • Xbox Store, on console or through the Xbox app.

Buying directly ties the licence to the account you already play on, makes pre-loading automatic, and leaves refunds under the platform's own policy rather than a third party's.

Physical discs come through the usual retailers. A disc can be resold or lent, and it does not vanish if a storefront delists the game — but you still download most of the install, so it saves less bandwidth than people expect.

On key resellers

Grey-market key sites will list it cheaper. The saving is real and so is the risk: keys are sometimes region-locked, occasionally bought with stolen cards and revoked later, and support is between you and a marketplace rather than the platform.

For a $10 saving on a launch title you will play for years, the maths is not obviously in your favour.

What to avoid entirely

Any site offering a download outside those storefronts, any "early access" build, and anything asking you to complete a survey or install a downloader first. The game does not exist outside Rockstar's own distribution, and it will not until launch day.
